Hi there, intrepid quilter!
My name is Miriam.
Just like you, in 2016 I became interested in quilting and decided to make a quilt.
It was my first quilt and I found it incredibly difficult and wanted to quit many times. There was a lot of trial and error as I wondered how to translate available quilting instructions written for regular quilting cotton to African fabrics.
Through a series of serendipitous events and the push and encouragement of good friends, I started Quilt Africa Fabrics and one of my biggest goals is to make it easy for every quilter to explore using African Fabrics in their projects.
I love coming up with interesting and projects and patterns that will look amazing with the vibrant, bold and beautiful African fabrics; and I believe that the Seasons Of Life pattern is a winner.
I designed this pattern to symbolize the power of self-awareness, courageous action, and personal victories and made it fun and doable it's perfect for both beginners and more advanced quilters.
The pattern provides the guideline but allows you the freedom to personally express your truth in a creative way that is unique to you.
Many of us in the Quilt Africa Tribe have created ours and there are no two that look alike.
The pattern is versatile and allows you to tweak to suit your state of mind and available space.
